As the Scientific Director of Wisdom2Action, and the Director of the Resilience Research Centre, the Canada Research Chair in Child, Family and Community Resilience and Professor of Social Work at Dalhousie University, as well as a family therapist, Michael Ungar, Ph.D. brings both qualitative research and resilience theory expertise to numerous international research projects.
Dr. Ungar has practiced for over 25 years as a Social Worker with children and families in child welfare, mental health, educational, and correctional settings. He is also a Marriage and Family Therapist. He is the author of 14 books and more than 75 articles and book chapters. His works include Working with Children and Youth with Complex Needs: 20 Skills to Build Resilience, Too Safe for Their Own Good: How Risk and Responsibility Help Teens Thrive, and The Social Worker.
