Sharon is the Founder and CEO of QuakeLab, a full-stack inclusion agency. Sharon specializes in a radical new approach to diversity and inclusion that is measurable, strategic, and based on a strong foundation of design thinking. A leader in empathetic community engagement and moving inclusivity from aspiration to action, Sharon is a regular contributor and panelist on Future of Good, Globe and Mail, CBC radio and television, Rabble.ca, Live 88.5, and CTV. An immigrant from Kenya who has lived and worked in Canada for over a decade, Sharon has worked across sectors with organizations in 11 countries.
Sharon has been profiled by Women of Influence and recognized as an emerging leader, reinventing how Canada does business by the Globe and Mail (2022 Globe and Mail Changemaker). She has been a keynote speaker, session leader, and workshop facilitator in over twenty conferences, public events, private company events and annual general meetings across North America, including SAAS North, Tech Talent North, Women of Influence, Creative Mornings and more.
Sharon focuses on sharing tangible and actionable recommendations on DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), systemic change, organizational management and restructuring and designing for inclusion. She is a firm believer of moving away from behaviour change approaches like anti-racism training, and onto structural change that includes assessing the systems and structures that cause inequity. She brings laughter, accessible language, and key insights to the stage, leaving audiences feeling well informed, equipped for the work ahead of them, and confident.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Wisdom2Action acknowledges the land on which it was originally established as the traditional and unceded territory of the M’ikmaq, known as Mi’kmak’i (Nova Scotia). Our team is spread across Turtle Island (Canada) on the treaty lands of many First Nations. We recognize the people and the land in this way as part of our commitment to anti-oppression and decolonization. We are all treaty people.
