Jade Petgrave-Cayley is a Community Research Assistant with Wisdom2Action living and working on unceded, unsurrendered Algonquin territory (also known as Ottawa).
Jade is studying to complete their Honours Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Psychology, at Carleton University. They are an active member on campus and in their community: they currently organize with Ottawa Dyke March, the Pride and Science Alliance, and are the Programming Coordinator at Carleton University’s Gender and Sexuality Resource Centre.
Jade has worked to uphold equity principles in pan-Canadian Covid-19 youth research with Pivot Hub and has several years of experience volunteering in provincial youth advocacy. They hope to deepen their understanding of social justice and continue to build community connections.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Wisdom2Action acknowledges the land on which it was originally established as the traditional and unceded territory of the M’ikmaq, known as Mi’kmak’i (Nova Scotia). Our team is spread across Turtle Island (Canada) on the treaty lands of many First Nations. We recognize the people and the land in this way as part of our commitment to anti-oppression and decolonization. We are all treaty people.
