Rose Clancey (she/they) is an associate with Wisdom2Action, living and working on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin territory in Ottawa, Ontario. They originally hail from K’Jipuktuk, (Halifax).
Rose specializes in social scientific research and has written and presented on a variety of topics, from the lives of queer people in Berlin during the rise of the Nazis, to the development of computer networking during the Cold War, to the on-going and multi-generational fight to dismantle the power held by cisgender doctors over trans bodies.
Believing that community organization and collective resistance are critically important, Rose previously worked at Youth Action Now, helping to connect grassroots youth groups with experienced activists and microgrant funding.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Wisdom2Action acknowledges the land on which it was originally established as the traditional and unceded territory of the M’ikmaq, known as Mi’kmak’i (Nova Scotia). Our team is spread across Turtle Island (Canada) on the treaty lands of many First Nations. We recognize the people and the land in this way as part of our commitment to anti-oppression and decolonization. We are all treaty people.
