Sreya Roy (she/her) is a Project Officer with Wisdom2Action based in Brampton, Ontario, on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. She is passionate about community engagement and knowledge translation, and seeks to prioritize the agency and autonomy of people with lived experience in her work. Having worked primarily in the youth sector, HIV/AIDS sector, and gender-based violence sector, she brings her experience working alongside 2SLGBTQ+ youth, sex workers, and people who use drugs into her role as a Project Officer.
Sreya attended Queen’s University for her undergraduate education and spent her time engaged in student organizing on and off campus, specifically with queer and trans youth and their families. She is dedicated to supporting opportunities for 2SLGBTQ+ youth to learn, cultivate a sense of community, and heal.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Wisdom2Action acknowledges the land on which it was originally established as the traditional and unceded territory of the M’ikmaq, known as Mi’kmak’i (Nova Scotia). Our team is spread across Turtle Island (Canada) on the treaty lands of many First Nations. We recognize the people and the land in this way as part of our commitment to anti-oppression and decolonization. We are all treaty people.
