Wisdom2Action incorporated as a business with a social enterprise commitment in 2019, building on our legacy as a national knowledge mobilization network, founded in 2013, supporting youth serving organizations across Canada.

ANTI-OPPRESSION

We acknowledge the realities of racism, sexism, colonialism, transphobia, homophobia, and other forms of oppression shape the experiences of individuals, organizations and communities. We are committed not only to acknowledging these systems, but actively resisting them in every aspect of our work.

COMMUNITY-DRIVEN

We believe that communities are key to facilitating change. We are committed to meaningful community engagement in all of our work. We believe that our work is strengthened by the meaningful, intentional and ongoing engagement of the communities we work with.

EVIDENCE BASED

We believe in using evidence to inform all aspects of our work. We believe that evidence comes from both traditional research and the wisdom of communities and people with lived experience. Our approach combines both community knowledge and academic evidence to guide our work.

Our History

Led by three co-owners with decades of experience supporting communities, causes, and organizations to advance social change. Lisa and Dennis united in 2002 to advance international children’s rights policy, on behalf of the Government of Canada. Lisa and Fae met when Fae spoke truth to power during a keynote speech on systemic homophobia at an international youth mental health conference in Dublin, Ireland in 2017.

When Lisa embarked on a new journey – transitioning the former CYCC knowledge mobilization network into a national consulting firm – they knew they needed the right team to make it happen. Dennis and Fae didn’t know it yet, but Lisa had a secret agenda neither could resist. And thus, a partnership was born. Each brings a unique lens and style to their work, and each has established leadership and expertise in their respective fields. Together, they put that expertise to work: helping unlock the power and potential of causes, communities, and organizations that matter.
