The following report captures the methods, findings, and recommendations of a project entitled ‘Out in Public: Impacts of Public Gender-Based Violence against 2SLGBTQ+ Youth’. This project was conducted
by Wisdom2Action in collaboration with Simon Fraser University’s (SFU) Researching Environments that Affirm 2S/LGBTQ+ Identities, Relationships & Mental Health (REAFFIRM) Collaborative team. The project was funded by the Canadian Institute for Health Research (CIHR). The focus of the project was public gender-based violence (GBV) which is any act of physical, sexual, or psychological violence that targets people based on their gender identity or sexual orientation in public spaces.
