Project Overview:
Wisdom2Action is partnering with the Sex Information & Education Council of Canada (SIECCAN) to ensure that sex education for youth with physical disabilities is done right by involving them in creating sex education resources. We are seeking youth (16-29) with physical disabilities related to mobility, flexibility or dexterity to take part in two focus groups. The first focus group will review content for sex education information tipsheets. The 2nd will review the final products and seek guidance on how to ensure they are used to benefit young people with physical disabilities. If you are interested in being part of either of the focus groups, please complete this form. A $100 honorarium will be provided per focus group to each youth for participating in the focus group. Access to a Canadian bank account is necessary to receive the honorarium by direct deposit. This project is funded by Health Canada.
Purpose:
The purpose of the first focus group is to review the content of sexual health tipsheets developed for youth with physical disabilities and provide suggestions on ways they could be improved. The purpose of the second focus group is to review the near-final versions of the tipsheets to identify anything that may be missing and to make suggestions on how the tipsheets can be used including who should receive them.
